Coming Soon
November 4th Bonfire Night.

Once again we'll be attempting to blow the field up opposite the pub! Pretty much like every year we'll be putting a selection of food and ales on, along with Keith D.J.ing from 8:30pm. The event will be starting around 8pm with fireworks stretching across an hour or so. Craig very rarely disappoints with the pyrotechnics and think this year their will be more noise than lights! Food on offer will be Burgers, Hot Dogs and Pie and Peas. We'll also be doing a family fortunes type quiz for the hanger-ons at around 9:30pm with music on til 11:00pm. This night has always been a blast and enjoyable so join us for an outstanding night of fun.
Good Beer Guide 2009.

Its official, we can now be found in The Good Beer Guide! With only a select few pubs in the Leeds area in the famous guide book, this has to be one of the biggest achievements of the last year for us. Along with The Owl and The Templar Bar, We have been added for the first time this year. The guide has lists of 4500 best pubs in Britain listed in it and is run by Camra ( Campaign for Real Ale ). It gives a brief description of the pub and what we offer to customers including Ales and food. With us extending our cask ale choices for future sales, the guide should be updated again around Christmas time, which will give the readers a better option of drinks for the following year. Once again we are so proud of ourselves for the hard work we have put in to get this great recognition. Thanks Camra. The Good Beer Guide can be found at most good book sellers.
Festival Charity Money.
Rodley Beer & Music Festival. The mens mountain bike donated by Andy for the Candlelighters raised a total of £208.00. The mountain bike was won by Judy who lives on Horton Rise in Rodley. Chris Peel also donated his wages for working the bar to the candlelighters £50.00. Darren Peel has also made a donation of £50.OO to the Candlelighters charity. So in total we have £308.00 going to the Candlelighters alone! We are still awaiting sponsor money to come in so we can total up the rest of the monies which is to be divided between the Candlelighters and St Georges Crypt. The feastival itself went down a storm and as far as we can tell everyone enjoyed it. So now we have all recovered we will be doing it all next year. Tug of War. Congratulations to the Rodley Barge ladies tug of war team and hopefully all the bruises have disappeared by now. Congratulations to the Owl mens tug of war team, don't think you will have any bruises though! Well done to all who took part in this, it was all good fun and quite painful. Stocks. Debbie and Gina got very wet as was to be expected but Paul and Steven got thier fair share also. This was well worth it, the event raised £75.00 towards the charities. We estimated the final total, which is to be divided over both charities, to be around the sum of £1500. A presentaion day is been organised and should be found in local newspapers. Thank you... To all the bands who were fantastic people with great music. To all the suppliers who supported us and donated gifts for the tombolas. To all the local business's who advertised in our programmes. To all the staff who worked so very hard and none stop all weekend. To friends who without their help and support we couldn't have coped. To all the people who came to the festival and made it such a fantastic weekend. To Gareth who made Monday such a great night to finish off.
